The 2014 SEMA show may be over, but the video content lives on! At this year’s show Konig’s President, Joe Schaefer sat down with SEMA Central to discuss happenings of the SEMA WTC (Wheel and Tire Council). Additionally Schaefer offers the WTC’s latest work, the WTC RIDE GUIDE. The Ride Guide is a way of manufacturer’s, retailer’s, and wholesaler’s providing tangible measurements on how a modification or change in parts will impact vehicles performance.

Driver duo Ali Arsham and Gary Sheehan for Gogogear.com’s racing team won the 2014 Nitto Tires United States Touring Car Championship in the final race of the season at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, California. With a 35 point advantage coming into the final race, Gogogear.com’s Hyundau finished with a second place position, and with that, clinching the championship along with it.
It wasn’t an easy season for the Gogogear.com/Konig Wheels/Powerbuilt Tools Hyundai. Scoring 3 wins out of seven in the season it took the team hard work and dedication to finish the 2014 USTCC on top. Arsham, Sheehan and the rest of the Gogogear.com team will take home their championship at their year-end ceremony this coming January. Congratulation’s on behalf of Konig Wheels to the teams efforts and success this season!
Las Vegas, N.V. – home to some of the biggest events and attractions on the planet including the SEMA Show (Specialty Equipment Market Association) every year which showcases the industry’s latest and greatest products for the year to come. Buyers from around the world headed to the Las Vegas Convention Center from November 4th – 7th making 2014 one of the biggest turnouts yet. Konig Wheels was honored as always to be part of the action, with a vast array of wheels featured as well as a handful of top-notch vehicle builds exhibited.

Every year the SEMA Wheel and Tire Council (WTC) pays tribute to its industry’s contributors and innovators at the SEMA Show. The SEMA WTC council brings together the wheel and tire segments of the industry to act as a voice for the industry as well as constantly innovating and propelling the industry forward. For the first time ever, the Wheel and Tire Council inducted 2 recipients to the Hall of Fame as voting resulted in a tie! Konig Wheels is proud to announce that one of this years WTC Hall of Fame recipients is our very own, Joseph Schaefer, President of Konig American. With a myriad of experience, Joe is a prime example of excellence and dedication to the wheel and tire industry. Serving as a WTC member for many years Joe is currently serving as the council’s Chairman. Thw WTC’s second recipient of the Hall of Fame award was David Insull, Director of Purchasing & Marketing at American Tire Distributors. Congratulations to Joe and Mr. David Insull on their achievements and induction.

As marketing director for Konig Wheels for more than 8 years, Scott Weiss has been an influential leader in the sport compact and tuning scene, for which Scott’s involvement in the industry and his demonstrated skill has not gone unnoticed by his peers. Scott amongst 34 other highly accomplished individuals have been carefully selected from a magnitude of nominees who have displayed superb talent and energy in the specialty-equipment marketplace. Konig American is proud to be a SEMA member company and even more so in the involvement their employees have within SEMA and the industry. We congratulate Scott and this career accomplishment and are proud to have him as a representative of Konig.
The 12th China International Tire Expo, which is one of the largest wheel, tire and related machinery tradeshows in asia started today, September 10th. Both foreign and domestic suppliers will meet for the next 3 days at the Shanghai Everbright Convention Center. This year 348 exhibitors meet across 4 exhibition halls focusing on the material and machinery of tire production including tire products, aftermarket services and equipment, tire accessories and of course, wheels and rims. The Konig brand is pleased to be displaying product at Citexpo under their YHI Intl parent company. This year with a record breaking 5,200 visitors on its opening day Konig as a brand will be able to meet with industry leaders and capitalize on industry growth and development.
Konig looks forward to support and collaboration from some of the most prominent entities around the world. Citexpo has been running strong for over a decade and with it’s turnout increasing year after year, the Konig brand is excited to be present and able to offer their products to more car enthusiasts around the world!
