SEMA Pit Stop: Konig Meets Up With Eibach and Koni Suspension

SEMA Pit Stop: Konig Meets Up With Eibach and Koni Suspension

Unlock Ultimate Performance: Konig Meets Eibach and Koni at SEMA

At this year’s SEMA show, Konig Wheels teamed up with the experts from Eibach Suspension and Koni Shock Absorbers to delve into the thrilling world of suspension tuning—a realm where performance meets artistry, and every tweak brings you closer to the ultimate driving experience.

Redefine Your Drive

Imagine a ride where you feel every nuance of the road, where your car responds to your slightest touch, and where safety and excitement coexist in perfect harmony. That’s the promise of a well-tuned suspension. Alan from Koni and Mark from Eibach unpack the incredible benefits of modifying your suspension. From increased control and contact with the road to the sheer joy of a ride that feels tailor-made for you—it’s all within reach.

Choose Your Path: Springs vs. Coilovers

Suspension modification isn’t a one-size-fits-all journey. Are you after that aggressive stance and improved ride quality? Lowering springs might be your answer. Looking for maximum adjustability and performance on both street and track? Coilovers could be your perfect match. In our video, we delve into the specifics, helping you make an informed decision that aligns with your driving style and goals.

Unlock the Secrets of Adjustability

Adjusting your dampers can be a game-changer—but only if you know how to do it right. If you’ve ever turned those knobs and wondered why nothing feels different, Alan and Mark have the insights you need. They explain why bigger adjustments can lead to more noticeable changes and how to find that ideal setting that offers the best balance between comfort and performance. It’s about making your suspension work for you, not against you.

The Art of the Drop

We all love the look of a lowered car—there’s something undeniably captivating about that sleek profile hugging the pavement. But how low is too low? Our experts tackle this question head-on, providing practical advice on achieving the perfect drop without sacrificing safety or functionality. Learn how to avoid issues like rubbing and scraping, and understand why allowing your suspension to move is crucial for optimal performance.

Experience the Full Conversation

This is just a glimpse into our in-depth discussion with Eibach and Koni. If you’re passionate about getting the most out of your car’s suspension—or if you’re just starting to explore the possibilities—you won’t want to miss the full video. Dive deeper into topics like corner balancing, adjustability nuances, and the impact of suspension on overall vehicle dynamics.

From KARTING to Formula Drift… the story of Konig Driver Robert Thorne

From Go-Karts to Formula Drift Champion: Robert Thorne’s Unstoppable Journey

From Go-Karts to Formula Drift Champion: Robert Thorne’s Unstoppable Journey

An Unforgettable Beginning

At just eight years old, Robert Thorne ignited his passion for motorsports. His godfather’s purchase of the Okra Valley Raceway Park became the catalyst for a journey that would redefine racing excellence. Young Robert embraced go-karting, laying the foundation for a future that few could imagine.

Rising Through the Ranks

By 14, Robert’s ambition soared. Determined to transition into formula cars, he convinced his father to enter him into a global contest for a Formula BMW sponsorship. Competing against 100 of the world’s best young drivers in Spain, Robert emerged victorious. This triumph catapulted him into the world of professional racing back in the United States.

A Versatile Racing Maestro

Over the next 15 years, Robert became a force in various motorsports arenas. From touring cars to endurance races, his versatility knew no bounds. At 17, he competed in the grueling Daytona 24 Hours. Racing for illustrious brands like Audi, McLaren, and Volvo, his name became synonymous with speed, skill, and sheer determination.

Embracing the Drift

When the world paused during the COVID-19 pandemic, Robert found a new challenge—drifting. In Edmond, Oklahoma, where drifting thrived despite global setbacks, he met Josh Love. With Josh’s mentorship, Robert delved into this electrifying sport. Together, they built a formidable car that would soon make waves in the drifting community.

Rookie Triumphs

Robert’s entry into Formula Drift was nothing short of spectacular. In his rookie year, he clinched the Pro-Am Championship. Not stopping there, he dominated the Pro Spec series, becoming the 2022 Pro Spec Champion. His meteoric rise turned heads and set a new standard for newcomers in the sport.

Engineering Excellence with “Pablo”

The quest for perfection led to the creation of his new car, affectionately named “Pablo.” This machine isn’t just a car; it’s a masterpiece of engineering. “It’s so badass—it’ll do anything you want at any time,” Robert boasts. With unmatched reliability and performance, Pablo embodies Robert’s relentless pursuit of greatness.

Words of Wisdom

For those aspiring to enter the world of motorsports, Robert offers invaluable advice: “Don’t move up too fast. Thrive where you’re comfortable before stepping up.” Having learned from his own experiences, he emphasizes the importance of patience and mastery at each level.

5,373 Mile Road Trip In A Miata!?

An incredible story of Greg from Goodwin Racing taking his Mazda Mazdaspeed Miata on Konig Hexaforms on a trip from San Diego, CA to Birmingham, AL for the Miata Reunion at Barber Motorsports Park.

Greg was a one man show where he was the sole attendant at the Goodwin Racing booth and still managed to participate in the track event. The round trip of 5,373 miles took Greg 64.5 hours. Going to the event he completed the drive in just 30.5 hours totaling 2,041 miles. How many days did it take? An appropriate question, Greg finished the one way drive with a total of 1.5 hours of sleep split between two naps. A couple bags under the eyes was a small price to pay to keep his hotel reservations from being cancelled. Followed by a much needed good night’s rest , Greg was able to enjoy the beauty of Barber Motorsports Park and the Miata Reunion while meeting with customers, seeing old friends, and making new ones! After spending some time in his home town in Kentucky, Greg hit the road once again for a 2,245 mile drive back to California. This drive took him 34 hours with once again, only two naps. Forgot to mention, this entire trip was done in a racing seat.. Who needs a SUV! Great job Greg!

Behind The Wheel Podcast: ALL AERO!!! ALL THE TIME!! Ft. Nine Lives Racing

On today’s podcast, we are joined Nine Lives Racing own Johnny Cichowski!

Established in 2007, Nine Lives Racing is originally a racing team and also a aerodynamics company specializing in CFD (cumulative distribution function) for vehicles and manufacturing of performance enhancing parts. Most popular for their wing kits and they also specialize in splitters, diffusers, and any other aerodynamic part to make you faster! The idea of making a more efficient aero wing came when Johnny Cichowski (Nine Lives Racing, Owner) worked at OG racing (Auto Racing safety gear manufacturer) as he was developing custom seats for Elan (maker of the NP01) and started looking at the extrusion they had made for their wing. Eventually they gave him one and he did some testing against a typical carbon wing. Turns out, the Elan profile added several MPH down the back straight and in turns at the Road Atlanta track. He decided right there to develop a more efficient aero kit. Started with making a kit for BMW M3 and the rest is history. On top of creating wing kits, Nine Lives Racing can also do CFD analysis and provide information and parts to complete the aero package.
