You’re On Your Own” Fitments & How to MAKE IT WORK (sort of)

If you’re ever seen our series called “Fit Check”, you’d know that in those videos, we outline 3 different categories of fitments (“No Hassle”, “Slight Flex”, and “All the Wheel”). If you managed to make it to the end of any of those videos, first let us say “thank you”… then, you’ll probably recognize a 4th category we like to call YOYO or “You’re on your own”.

YOYO is a bonus fitment category of sorts, but really more of a disclaimer. Anything width or offset sizing exceeding this point in our recommendations, and… you got it – you’re on your own. This is because in our experience, anything exceeding this point will require suspension modifications and/or body mods like rolling fenders or even over fenders or widebody kits will be necessary.

Maybe your buddy has fit a 10.5″ wide wheel and we’re only recommending a 9.5″. That doesn’t mean 10.5″ won’t fit in any situation, it means that your buddy more than likely had to put in some work just to make it fit – which is not a situation we want YOU to have to find yourself navigating out of.

Hope this video helps understand why we recommend the fitments that we do in our videos and if YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, feel free to comment them below and we’ll be sure to get back to you!

Don’t STRESS OUT YOUR WHEELS… consider LOAD RATING

Don’t STRESS OUT YOUR WHEELS… consider LOAD RATING

Load Rating… you’ve heard us talk about it, we’ve even made a few videos about it! But, does it really matter when you’re in the process of selecting a wheel? Is it just an arbitrary number, or will glossing over a wheel’s load rating when you’re shopping around end up in a headache later on down the road? (pun intended)

As we see vehicles getting heavier and heavier, considering a wheel’s load rating is more important than it ever was before for car enthusiasts. Whether you’re car is built for the street or for the track, load rating is a number.

Simply put, a wheel’s Load Rating indicates the maximum static load that the wheel is designed to carry. Finding out what load rating you need for your car is easy as well! Let’s dive into exactly what you need to know about Load Rating and why it’s more important now than ever to pay attention to this number.

Wheel Spacers can be more complicated than you think…

Wheel Spacers… I’m sure you’ve used them or know somebody who uses them. Maybe you got a new set of wheels but the fitment isn’t perfect and you’d like to push the wheels out a bit more?

Spacers can play an important role when it comes to fitment, however Wheel Spacers can be more complicated than just slapping them on your hub and fastening your wheel. While they may seem like an easy solution to improve the stance or clearance of your vehicle, improper installation or choosing the wrong type can lead to serious safety issues.

We’ll break down:

00:38 – The risks associated with using wheel spacers
01:00 – What to consider before installing them on your vehicle
01:56 – Using wheel spacers to achieve brake clearance, or to just adjust for body modifications.
03:26 – Using a wheel adapter to change your PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter) – Bolt Pattern
04:30 – Quality of materials is very important
